so let me update you with what's happened during the first 25 weeks of pregnancy.
1. morning sickness attacked and came in full blown week 6 and was relentless until about 22 weeks. in a weird sort of way being that sick always reminded me that our girl was still in my tummy and my body was reacting to all the amazing changes going on in me and that all was well. hugging the toilet and smiling is a weird thing for most people to see but my hubby smiled with me as we both knew this baby was a keeper.
i should probably mention we had 3 miscarriages. all of them were early on in the pregnancy but the nevertheless the loss of all our babies hurt us to our core. but ill save that season of sorrow and God's working for a later posting.
2. week 10 was when the morning sickness got really bad. i couldnt move and was bed bound for a whole week. i must of thrown up 8-9 times a day when finally i was feeling dehydrated. we went into urgent care and sure enough i was. dr. gave me some meds to take (zofran) and it did wonders. i was able to eat, not very much, but at least i was able to drink water which was the most important. i stopped taking the meds at about 13 1/2 weeks just to be on the safe side.
3. i mostly ate watermelon my 1st trimester. about 1 every 2 days. my husband kept saying our little one was gonna look like a watermelon. soon enough i got sick of watermelon and began to live off strawberries and this real funny shake id make.
4. 2nd trimester grapes and apples have been good to me. but nearing my 3rd trimester in 2 weeks im beginning to not favor them as much. wonder what my next fruit victim will be.
5. pasta, pizza and lasagna! need i say more? love love love it right now and much needed for our little one to get nice and plump.
6. during this time of pregnancy daniel (husband) has really helped pick up the slack and has been so sweet in serving me with his busy schedule.
7. i havent worked out much. just doing some light stretching cause i get these insane leg cramps and back aches. i do walk a lot and living in a home with stairs always helps too.
8. i bought my 1st few pairs of maternity pants 2 weeks ago. i couldnt get away with unbuttoned pants any longer and that belly band thing doesnt work so well and its not that comfortable. i can still fit my shirts but have a feeling those will be getting snug soon.
9. i had my 1st pregnancy compliment from someone i didnt know which felt great because someone actually noticed i was pregnant!!!
these last 25 weeks have gone by slow but also very fast (dont ask me to explain what i mean by that its just the way it feels). and also has been a time of GREAT reflection and planning.
things daniel and i have talked about:
1. how are we gonna raise our child
2. what values do we want to instill in her early on
3. how will we battle the differencing of opinions while raising her
4. no matter where daniel and i are our conversation in child rearing will match up and we will not be concerned about not being on the same page because we will be
5. her middle name was quite a discussion for a while (more on that later)
6. how will we discipline and teach obedience
7. how will we spend our holidays, what traditions will we create, what holidays wont really mean much (like halloween)
this is just to name a few. being pregnant is a glorious time, a time of anticipation and excitement for whats to come. so i guess for the next few weeks as i write, i will have no rhyme or reason for the order i write in but i just really wanted to begin expressing my thoughts and sharing with you. also it would make for a great diary for our little one to read some day :)
